Race for the Cure

So, last night I found out that Race for the Cure Knoxville is October 30th. That will be perfect. That gives me time to complete my C25K program, to lose more weight and the weather should be nice for a run. I am really excited. I want to get a team together and make t-shirts that say "Nothing Tastes as Good as Skinny". Any of my friends that want to join me are welcome to be on my team. Last night I already had some people say that they would do it! My goal is to continually jog-run the entire thing. Not sure how fast that will be. Right now 4.5-5.0 is a good jog for me but I can only do it for short bursts. Hoping by the time I finish C25K that I will be able to keep that pace for the entire 3 miles. I took a look at the Knoxville course online and it is surprisingly pretty flat. There is a little rise and fall but shouldn't be too bad. I guess I will have to start adding some incline to the treadmill as well.

I am also going to try to raise $1000 dollars for the cause. I am going to send a letter to friends, family and colleagues asking people to pledge based on the pounds I have lost at the time of the race (i.e., 25 cents a pound, 50 cents a pound or $1 per pound). If I stay on track and continue to lose about 2 pounds a week, I should be about 75 pounds lighter by the time of the race! So exciting.
